This utility page is meant to assist moderators quickly update an NFT name. It only requires the updator to be able to sign the transaction(s) using the update authority.

HOW DOES IT WORK

In the background, the operation uses Metaplex’s native interface to:

• Upload the off-chain metadata to ARWEAVE immutable storage.
• Update only 2 fields from the NFT on-chain metadata account: name & uri

You have 2 main actions on this page:

• Update name: Uses the value entered in the field.

• Reset to original name: Uses the original name (refer to the comparison below)

USE CASES

• Honor a community member by naming their NFTs after them.
• Rectify a name with a typo or with abusive content.
• Reset a name to the original one (If the NFT was modified using the naming ceremony)

If your project used the Naming Ceremony before, each validated NFT has a data account on Solana managed by the Naming Ceremony program (Smart contract).
